“Frank, a single man raising his child prodigy niece Mary, is drawn into a custody battle with his mother.” ~IMDB logline
This movie is so much more because it is a well-told tale that has to do with the healthy and necessary balance in life illustrated through the story of a little math wiz and her relationship with her uncle. I enjoyed their interactions because as a former philosophy professor, he spoke to her in a way that allowed her to form her own ideas. Also of note, is the commitment of this intellectual character for his niece to have a normal and fun childhood with friends her own age.
Loving the theme of math between this gem and Hidden Figures! They make an enlightening double feature!

Movie reviews of live action, animation and documentaries films that delight and inspire.
I have great love and respect for movies. As a producer, I know what a massive undertaking it is to make a movie. With so many moving parts, so much can go wrong. It’s a miracle when they turn out good. Then finding an audience is another huge and expensive task. So all movies are commendable, but not all movies are for me.
Like in Sullivan’s Travels, I thought only serious pictures were important, but I was wrong. I discovered the power and magic of comedies. Movies should build us up in some way. We should walk out of a movie uplifted… feeling better, with something new or a part of us reignited with passion or inspiration.
