I love New Orlean’s classic style, the cultural diversity, music, architecture and the unapologetic spirituality. I felt at home there as if I have had a past life connection.
NOLA is a wonderful place to just hang out. Something about the place invites you to just be and enjoy it. It is enough just to sit at cafes, walk around and discover beautiful neighborhoods like the French Quarter and the Garden District. We found the Jazz Museum quite fascinating.
“There are a lot of places I like, but I like New Orleans better.” — Bob Dylan
Food is fantastic! I haven’t had a bad meal in NOLA. For food and decor, I suggest:

Of course, you have to have a beignet at Cafe du Monde, the most popular place where we all participate as willing and patient tourists. Some places have vegan and gluten-free options.

“New Orleans food is as delicious as the less criminal forms of sin.” — Mark Twain

I’ve stayed with local friends, at the Ritz Carlton, the Hyatt Place by the Convention Center, and I’ve heard the Pontchartrain Hotel in the Garden District is cool. If you are adventurous, I’d recommend one of the famous haunted hotels.
