The Wonder, Wellness & Wisdom of Living Flowers

Glorious Living with Macarena Luz Bianchi

As a florist, you understand the beauty and power of fresh cut flowers as well as live plants.

Here’s a reminder of the benefits living plants and flowers provide you and your customers.

Like all flowers and plants, live ones are also beautiful. They let us connect to beauty and glorious wonder when we participate in their care. This connection creates an enriching reciprocal relationship.

Living plants provide wellbeing thanks to their ability to convert carbon dioxide into oxygen. In fact, plants reduce indoor air pollution by transforming chemical gases like formaldehyde, benzene and trichloroethane. Live plants also produce negative ions which offset electromagnetism and are the reason we feel better outside in nature.

Plants are sentient. You know that. They are smart problem solvers and communicators. I first read about the science behind this in the classic bestselling book, The Secret Life of Plants: A Fascinating Account of the Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual Relations Between Plants and Man by Peter Tompkins and Christopher Bird. A more recent book, Brilliant Green: The Surprising History and Science of Plant Intelligence by Stefano Mancuso and Alessandra Viola goes further and advocates for plant rights.

Living plants and flowers are amazing sources of wonder, wellness and wisdom! How rewarding to include them in your marvelous creations.
